In 2016, the Krasnoyarsk Territory exported over 153 thousand tons of grain abroad

In 2016, over 153 thousand tons of grain were exported from the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, including over 131.9 thousand tons of wheat.

At least, such a volume of exports was controlled by the Office of the Rosselkhoznadzor in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

This data was presented by the head of the department Alexander Agapov at a meeting with journalists. He stressed that assisting regional producers in entering foreign markets is one of the most important tasks of management.

“Recently, we have been paying great attention to the task that the government, the Minister of Agriculture and our leader set for us is to promote local products for export. We have potential, first of all, this is grain. For example, we were among the four constituent entities of the Russian Federation to which China gave the green light for the supply of grain, and we participated in the preparation of our enterprises for this,” he said.

In total, 44 Krasnoyarsk enterprises submitted applications for the supply of grain abroad, according to the results of inspections carried out by the Rosselkhoznadzor, their products were found to meet the requirements.

The main part of wheat grain (127 thousand tons) in 2016 was delivered to the Mongolian People's Republic, almost 5 thousand tons - to the Republic of Azerbaijan. Also, 6.5 thousand tons of oats and 3.6 thousand tons of rapeseed were sent to Mongolia. And China bought 11.6 thousand tons of rapeseed.

Also Krasnoyarsk grain - 337 thousand tons of wheat, 53 thousand tons of barley and 28 thousand tons of oats - was exported to 36 regions of the Russian Federation. The main Russian consumers of Krasnoyarsk grain were the Leningrad Region and the city of St. Petersburg (109 thousand tons), the Irkutsk Region (62 thousand tons), the Kemerovo Region (57 thousand tons), the Altai Territory (37 thousand tons), the Republic of Buryatia (35 thousand tons) .

“The volumes are large, our grain is in demand. The largest consumer of our grain is St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. Those cereals that we eat, the famous oatmeal, are practically from our grain," Agapov said.

Director of the association of agricultural producers of the Krasnoyarsk Territory "Yenisei Standard" Sergey Novikov commented on the situation with the export of local products to 1-LINE news agency.

“We really have a great production potential, and therefore the regional government actively supports the largest grain producers. However, there is also a downside: it turns out that we export raw materials (grain, milk, etc.), and all this comes back to us in the form of finished products (flour, cereal, cheese, etc.). It seems to me that the system of state support for local farmers should be aimed at the development of processing, the creation of a complete production chain up to the promotion of local brands in retail chains,” he emphasized.
